NYC’s Eataly is coming to Chicago
Mario Batali is expanding his “best of Italy” concept store/restaurant to Chicago’s River North. I’ve enjoyed the NYC location numerous times and look forward to this addition to the great eats I’ve already enjoyed in my short time here in Chicago.

My favorite Szechuan restaurant from Philly is moving up in the world. First they’re expanding their foot print on 2nd St by moving across the street. Second they’re opening a branch in NYC. I hope that Han Chiang continues to follow me and opens one in Chicago as well :)

More than you ever needed to know about peppers

While cooking up my Cinco de Mayo meal I was curious about the heat levels of the peppers I was using. A quick Google search for one of the newer peppers in my mix brought me to “Just how hot are my chillies” which gives an explanation of how “hot” works, the chemistry behind the flavor and best of all a graduated scale of nearly every pepper imaginable.
